  • How to Transfer a Domain name to a New Owner

It doesn't matter if you want to sell your domain or your entire website. You need to be familiar with the steps involved in transferring your domain to a new owner. First, it is important to understand that transfer procedures can differ from one domain name registry to the next. The process is the same for every domain name registrar, but the details are not changed. To initiate the transfer, you will need to click on a section of your domain control panel within the domain name registry network. You will also need to fill out the form provided by the domain name registration company.

  • Godaddy requires you to know the "Account email address" of the receiver. NameCheap network requires the "Authorization Code", and the "buyer’s Username". Without these details, the domain transfer will be canceled.

eNom and its affiliates (name.com domainsite.com etc.) require the "Account Code". The "Account Code" is required for eNom and its affiliates (name.com, domainsite.com, etc. This information can be found in the FAQ section of your domain registrar.

It is best to have both the sender and receiver use the same domain name registry. This can make things easier if they use different domain name registers. Sometimes, you'll need to get in touch with your domain registrar to help you navigate the process.

ICAN rules state that domain names must be registered for at least 60 days before you are allowed to transfer them. However, domain name registrars like GoDaddy will allow you to transfer domain names if they have the domain in their network.
